Lifeboat day action on July 27th

Lifeboat day promises to be a crowd pleaser with bouncy castles plus stands for the fire brigade and Coastguard, plus the RSPB. The lifeboat will be on the water and a joint exercise with the helicopter is planned for 3pm, services permitting.

Busy weekend for the lifeboat

The volunteer crew of Beaumaris Lifeboat today on a “shout” assisting Llandudno RNLI crew and its D Class lifeboat with towing a 40ft yacht that has broken down in Colwyn Bay.  The yacht was towed into Deganwy.
Beaumaris Lifeboat was called out three times yesterday but stood down on all occasions.  The first at 17:00 was for a kayaker at Penmon who had been rescued by a fishing boat and taken ashore by the time the lifeboat arrived.  The second incident at 21:50 was for a broken down boat in Menai Bridge but the crew were stood down just before they launched, and the final incident at 22:40 was to search for an inflatable with passengers on board off Caernarfon that was over 2 hours late returning.  The lifeboat was launched and was at Bangor Pier when they informed the inflatable had returned so the crew were stood down.
