Lifeboat called to rescue couple in Submerged Camper Van

Beaumaris RNLI Lifeboat was called out on Friday night at 00.35 after the police reported a camper van half submerged with two people in it at a trailer park near the slip at Menai Bridge.

Beaumaris RNLI’s volunteer crew were assembled and found when they arrived at Menai Bridge that they could take the RNLI lifeboat right up to the camper van due to the high tide.  The two camper van passengers were able to open the van’s door to board the RNLI’s Lifeboat and were then taken by the volunteer lifeboat crew to shore.  The crew remained with the two van passengers as they were suffering from shock and cold till an ambulance arrived when they were put in the care of the paramedics.  The volunteer lifeboat crew then returned to the Lifeboat Station.
