Crew Prepare for New Lifeboat

The Beaumaris Lifeboat Crew have received training on the new Atlantic 85 class lifeboat, due to replace the current Atlantic 75 this year. The new lifeboat will be faster, carry a fourth crew member, and will have radar and radio direction finding equipment plus more space for casualties.
The 85 launches in the same way as the existing 75, and minimal changes are required to the lifeboat station to house the new boat. It's twin 115hp four stroke engines are a big improvement on the 70hp 2-stroke engines on the 75; not just for outright speed, but for reliability and fuel consumption.
