Crew Prepare for New Lifeboat

The Beaumaris Lifeboat Crew have received training on the new Atlantic 85 class lifeboat, due to replace the current Atlantic 75 this year. The new lifeboat will be faster, carry a fourth crew member, and will have radar and radio direction finding equipment plus more space for casualties.

The 85 launches in the same way as the existing 75, and minimal changes are required to the lifeboat station to house the new boat. It's twin 115hp four stroke engines are a big improvement on the 70hp 2-stroke engines on the 75; not just for outright speed, but for reliability and fuel consumption.

Thanks for Harry Hawker

Harry Hawker (right), pictured with Derek Lumb, Lifeboat Operations Manager, receives a Letter of Thanks by the Chief Executive of the RNLI for his time as Treasurer of the Beaumaris Lifeboat Station.

Beaumaris to forecast the future

"A local resident of Beaumaris has made a generous donation to the Lifeboat Station recently. Nigel Warburton who many of the town will recognise from the Bulkeley Hotel has always been a keen supporter of the RNLI and the stations activities and decided to donate the sum of £500 to the station.."

Hairy Bikers roll into Beaumaris

"..the bikers and their production team roared into Beaumaris to cook up another dish at the local lifeboat station. The lifeboat was all but launched to make room for the show's field kitchen as the bikers went to work.
Helmsman Guy Williams watched the filming of the show at the boathouse and got to sample the TV dinner with fellow spectators.." Article from the North Wales Chronicle
